From London to Jersey, Johan was everywhere in the last full month of the regular season.

February 2011

Johan asserted himself at either end of the floor as the Nets moved through February.

A year that saw Johan play for two teams ended on Friday night, with No. 27 scoring the final basket of the season for the Denver Nuggets.

Denver fell, 119-92, in Game 6 of the Western Conference Finals, with Johan seeing the floor for the second time in the series late in the fourth quarter. He played 2:47, scoring on his only shot as the game neared its end.

STAT OF THE UNION
Through 49 games for the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Nuggets, Johan averaged 2.6 points, 2.9 rebounds, 0.7 assists, 0.4 steals,  0.2 blocks and 8.7 minutes per game.

GAME OF THE YEAR
On December 5, 2008, Johan had his best night of the season against the Orlando Magic. In 19 minutes on the court he racked up 15 points, g7-9 from the field and sank his free throw. He also dished out a pair of rebounds and assists.

IN HIS WORDS
Johan was excited to join the Denver Nuggets during the season, expressing his optimism for the change in scenery.

“Now it just feels great to be able to get a fresh start on a winning team. It’s just a blessing. It was frustrating because I wasn’t playing anymore and because we were losing. It was super frustrating. But now I get a new chance to get some work done.”

AS SEEN BY…

“Three Denver players — Anthony Carter, Dahntay Jones and Chris Andersen — have NBA minimum contracts. Two others — Renaldo Balkman and Johan Petro — have relatively inexpensive deals. And yet these players are anything but minimal when it comes to their importance and impact on the court…The Nuggets are 9-1 when Balkman starts, and Petro has played better as the season progresses.” – The Denver Post’s Chris Dempsey

“He was very important in the 15 minutes he played. I said after the game that I thought he played well, and then I looked at the film and thought he played even better. Defensively, he did a great job.” – Nuggets coach George Karl

“I’ve said all along – I think he can play NBA basketball. How much improvement and confidence he can get from the short minutes is difficult.” – Nuggets coach George Karl
