Johan asserted himself at either end of the floor as the Nets moved through February.
Prior to the season, many analysts predicted that the Denver Nuggets would experience a letdown this season after reaching the Western Conference Finals last year.
But rather than dropping off to third in their division, as many predicted, the Nuggets have gotten off to a hot start and at 8-3, lead the Northwest Division by percentage points over the Portland Trail Blazers.
After getting off to a 5-0 start, Denver suffered losses in three of their next four games heading into a showdown with the Lakers. But the Nuggets recovered in a big way with 26-point victory over Los Angeles, the same team that ousted them from the playoffs the season prior. Johan played the final six minutes, grabbing two boards in the victory.

After a three-day rest to savor their big win, the Nuggets returned to action on Tuesday against the Toronto Raptors. Johan posted even better numbers in the 130-112 blowout. No. 27 scored two points and added three boards in just five minutes to help Denver close out Toronto and seize the lead in the Northwest.
In 19 minutes this season, Johan has collected four points and nine rebounds. That averages out to 10 points and 22 boards per 48 minutes.

Johan and the Nuggets return to the Los Angeles on Friday night hoping for a better result than the last time they took the floor in the City of Angels.
That was back in May when they lost Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals to the Lakers to fall into a 3-2 deficit in the series. The Lakers went on to finish the series two nights later in Denver.
But this time the Nuggets won’t be taking on the Lakers, but their Staples Center roommates the Los Angeles Clippers. Tip-off is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. Mountain Time and all the action can be seen on ESPN.
